HIV/AIDS in Zambia

The following statistics present a stark picture of the current state of the epidemic and illustrate the urgency of this Project.

~ Roughly 1 in 6 Zambians are HIV positive

~ Since 1980, life expectancy has dropped from 52 to 39.

~ Around 255 Zambias die from HIV/AIDS every day.

~ 21,000 children become infected every year.

~ If nothing changes, half of today's 15 year olds will die from HIV/AIDS
