Tsunami Relief (Thailand)

Impact team help with Tsunami relief effortThaiGroup.jpg

In Thailand, during 2005, a multi-national Impact team helped with the re-building effort following the devastating Asian Tsunami.

The project involved helping the Thai Royal Navy to rebuild houses for a community of ‘sea gypsies’, a group of people already living on the margins of Thai society, who saw their homes and livelihoods devastated by the catastrophic event.

It was a great chance to give something back to the community by helping the Thai Royal Navy with physical labour as well as providing a ‘gourmet’ meal to heighten spirits.

Hundreds of toys were also given to the community’s children, donated or purchased from money raised by the Impact team worldwide
