Sony on secondment

Sony_main.jpgImpact are pleased to welcome Carol-Ann Spencer to our Relief and Development Group. Carol-Ann will be with us on secondment from Sony for the next 6 months. This professional secondment is just one of a number of initiatives that Impact are pioneering to help organisations understand what they can do to become more sustainable.

Carol-Ann’s role within the Relief and Development Group has a global remit and will see her assigned to the Humanitarian Relief Initiative (HRI).

The HRI is a project run jointly by the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Economic Forum. It aims to link the private sector with the humanitarian sector, to more effectively respond to disasters and emergencies around the world.

The secondment aims to serve the following agendas:

1. To provide a unique opportunity for professional development for Carol-Ann
2. To play a key role in supporting the Humanitarian Relief Initiative
3. To grow Impact’s capacity to support private-humanitarian sector partnerships
4. To determine the opportunities for Sony as part of any future involvement in humanitarian initiatives

The deliverables will include:

•    Wide-ranging research into global best practice for the private sector partnering with the humanitarian sector
•    A practical and comprehensive handbook to guide corporates in their involvement and participation
•    Strategic recommendations for Impact and Sony on their respective propositions
