Sanofi Pasteur - High Performing Teams

Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines business of Sanofi-Aventis Group, is the largest company in the world devoted entirely to human vaccines.

Impact France have worked with Sanofi Pasteur on a number of events worldwide. Our most recent intervention was for their Latin American region, focusing on their subsidiaries in Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

Objective

Impact worked with Sanofi to deliver the middle section of a three-day event for 60 delegates from the Latin American region. Delivering in Spanish, Impact’s focus was on High Performing Teams. The objectives for the day included teambuilding, leadership skills and creating a synergy between the subsidiary offices and the Head Office in Lyon, France.

Solution

The programme was designed in consultation with Sanofi’s International Head of Human Resources, Impact France and Ace Chile, our Latin American partner company.  The process involved the careful selection of review models and the creation of a learning booklet for the delegates.

The day began with a series of team challenges, involving delegates in a range of different projects in an attempt to ‘win’ resources for the afternoon. A facilitated review of the morning highlighted the key themes of synergy, organisation and communication.

The programme continued into the afternoon with ‘Chocks Away’ – a fully interactive construction challenge. The village of Pucon, at the foot of the live Volcano Villarrica in southern Chile, formed a striking backdrop as the delegates built three life-size biplanes. The teams had to manage the distribution of resources between the groups, work within strict time limits and lead the design and construction of the planes.

The day closed with the group coming together to review how the teams had worked. Links were then made to the wider issue of the relationship between the Latin American team and the Head Office in France.

Result

The delegates had the opportunity to reflect on their working relationships and their objectives for the future. There was a newfound appreciation of the need for vigilance when communicating internally and with their customers.
