Impact Careers – some answers…
What are you looking for in a trainer/consultant?
Our people come from a variety of backgrounds - from industry, education, human resources or from outdoor education. We value cultural "fit" as much as we do specific skills and qualifications and in this respect we need people who are extremely skilled at and enthusiastic about working with groups of people, who are passionate about developing people and changing people's lives and who are willing to do whatever it takes to get a positive and practical result for individuals, groups and the client organisations we work with.
We do receive a very large number of speculative applications, so we have to narrow them down. Here are some of the things that make a CV interesting to us. This list is not exhaustive and we don't expect anyone to be able to put a tick in every one of these boxes!
- about 5 years experience of working with groups of people in a training environment, preferably as an external trainer but possibly as an in-house trainer
- experience of managing and designing training/consultancy solutions to help organisations achieve business results
- a specialisation in facilitating experiential development training - we do very little classroom style training, all of our events are tailor-made and designed around real, challenging and consequential experiences for participants
- a high level and breadth of industrial/commercial/public sector management experience
- experience of developing people on a 1:1 basis as a personal or executive coach
- experience as an HR/training professional in a range of organisations
- evidence of a strong, vibrant personality, someone who would be credible standing up in front of client groups and can sell themselves, Impact and their proposed solution with utter confidence
- a strong sales/client management background preferably in a business related to ours
- some exciting life experiences that mark you out as someone a bit different who we'd be really interested in meeting
