Loreal - Managing Time and Priority

Objective

L’Oréal China identified a need for their people to manage their time and prioritise workloads more effectively.

Solution

Impact China and L’Oréal created a programme enabling staff to assess the effectiveness of their working day.

The event equipped participants with the tools to:
•    Ensure time is spent on high return activities
•    Plan and prioritise
•    Process day-to-day flow of work and information
•    Work more effectively through improved communication and influencing skills.

A carefully structured, three-step approach to the learning journey was integral to the programme’s success:

1.    A pre-programme survey ensured the content matched the L’Oréal working environment and behaviours. It helped participants prepare for the event and generated enthusiasm and anticipation for the programme.
2.    The programme focused on effectiveness and efficiency. Participants examined their personal working practice and how they managed their sphere of influence. Theoretical inputs enabled them to better understand their working focus with a practical toolkit of planning tools, communication skills and workstation organisation.
3.    A practical classroom session looking at their working environment, together with further on-site coaching allowed staff to immediately put their ideas into practice.

Result

Participants found they were proactively managing their time, leading to a better work/life balance. Best practices were shared across teams, cascading the learning throughout the organisation.

L’Oréal China and Impact have now run a series of Managing Time and Priority Programmes, each one adapted to fit the changing delegate profile and working environments.

"Impact has been the company dedicated to the evolution of this programme. With the programme owner’s guidance the event has been customised to better fit the L’Oréal culture. The training consultants’ professional experience and energetic style are the highlights for the programme.”
