Ian Wilson
Job title
Consultant /Operations Manager Impact France (confusingly I am currently based in the UK)
Last book you read?
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle – interesting twist at the end
Your heroes include...?
World War Veterans, my partner Becky and anyone who gets on with life despite facing massive problems
Favourite line from a film?
“It's 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses!....................HIT IT!!!” from "Blues Brothers"
Your best day at Impact (so far...)?
There are many but when France hit their target last year was pretty satisfying. I also love big events abroad having a good time with colleagues, one particular one in Crete stands out... The job offers the chance to travel to some interesting places, with great people (plus of course a few windowless conference hotels in Milton Keynes to balance this out!)
Proudest day?
Probably when I finally arrived in France to stay for one year – so much organisation was required to get me and the family there
Last journey you took?
On 19th December 2004 I started a journey that will not stop until I die – Fatherhood!! I have 2 fantastic boys (3rs and 4 months). Not always easy but highly rewarding
(Least) favourite place?
On a 10pm flight that has been delayed for 2 hours back from Paris with overtired kids (not mine!) wearing Mickey Mouse ears from Eurodisney
Favourite place – Somewhere remote and beautiful, the River Marsyangdi that flows from Annapurna in Nepal would be high on the list. Also up there would be Fontainebleau Forest and of course, most of the Lake District
