We'll start with the reality of our environmental challenges. Using a mixture of expert inputs and site visits you will have a chance to understand both the theory and reality of our current environmental and social challenges. Then you'll visit partner organisations who are already responding to the challenges of sustainability. From those that are altering the way they do core business to those that are discovering whole new business opportunities, you will have the chance to interview key leaders to see how they are inspiring their workforces to make change happen. Finally we'll discuss how  to make change happen for you and your business.

We will be looking at the issues of waste management as a social and environmental justice issue using the South Bronx as a case study. We are partnering with a number of organizations including: Sustainable South Bronx, The Point Community Development Corporation, Wa$teMatch NY, and Greenworker Cooperatives. Our goal is to look at these issues from multiple stakeholder perspectives from local community members to companies operating within the area.

The NY Discovery Experience will be intense, thought-provoking, and allow participants to see global issues play out in a very localized setting.
