Diesel - Intercultural Learning

Objective

After a global assessment, Diesel Campus decided to work with Impact for the first module out of three on their International Learning Programme.

The aim of the module was to support international first line managers from Diesel, dealing with interpersonal and  intercultural challenges. It was important to stimulate exchange internationally and to help the organisation work more effectively together in the future.

Solution

Impact designed a two-day interpersonal and intercultural learning approach.

The interpersonal element focused on building effective communication across the business both at a personal and an organisational level. MBTI© was included to create a common working language across the business, to help people understand themselves and others, enabling them to work smarter across the business.

The intercultural day focused on raising awareness and sharing knowledge about different country cultures, as well as examining Diesel corporate culture at local and national levels. This enabled the participants to identify common cultural barriers that exist within the organisation, to look at the complexities of resolving inter-cultural issues and to devise practical solutions. The participants discussed how to drive Diesel’s values in a multi-cultural environment.

Result

"The programme built a strong network between Diesel’s first line European managers.  Participants created the foundations of a real learning group and improved their ability to communicate at a personal and intercultural level."
