Community Action Learning
Bringing Corporate Social Responsibility to life through learning and development
We believe that corporations and communities can and should be brought together for mutual benefit and learning.
Impact’s Community Action Programmes make this happen. They are the most powerful tool for learning and development that we know of.
Community Action Programmes are real and consequential with the outcomes strongly influencing motivation and productivity in your organisation. They will complement your Corporate Social Responsibility strategy as well as enhance the organisation’s standing in the community.
How this methodology works
First we determine the development aim of the programme and whether it is part of a longer journey or a one-off event. Together we discuss your needs, what to expect, case studies and the importance of identifying the benefits to both your organisation and the community partner.Impact uses a rigorous process to select the most suitable community partner for you. A partnership is then forged and the programme is designed to meet all parties’ needs. During the programme, Impact facilitators intervene as appropriate and review sessions draw parallels to work, based on the learning aim. These review sessions and other processes ensure that new awareness becomes real action that makes a difference back at work.
Measuring success
Community Action Programmes can be used for a variety of learning and development interventions. For leadership focused programmes, performance appraisals and staff satisfaction surveys are key indicators. On team development programmes, facilitators challenge and ensure that the team creates its own appropriate benchmarks relevant to its unique business situation. Equally important is the feedback from your community partner.
