Jeremy Benton
Climbing Mount Everest...
Jeremy has wanted to climb Everest ever since he started mountaineering 19 years ago.
Having personally led dozens of expeditions to many locations around the world including Pakistan, Peru, Morocco, Namibia, France, Spain and Crete, Jeremy’s passion for mountaineering and his love of the mountains grew, as did his dream and ambition of climbing Everest.
Over the last few years Jeremy has been focusing heavily on his career. His commitment to opening and managing Impact’s New York office in 2001 left him little time for any personal goals. He decided to readjust the balance, and made the decision to climb Everest.
Life for Jeremy is about adventure, friendship, and enjoyment. So was the expedition. He knew he would be tested, both physically and mentally, and the experience would not always be pleasurable. It is a difficult climb, and one that has claimed several lives throughout the years. For many of those who have succeeded, however, the climb has given them a whole new vision of life.
Jeremy Benton summited Everest at 6.22am on Saturday 4th June 2005. He was the first to summit that day, after an extremely difficult climb in high winds and low temperatures.
He said "There is a lot of truth in the saying that you only start enjoying Everest when you get back home! Thanks to everyone for all the help and support."
