1982 - The Early Years

Impact won new business successfully changing working behaviour of apprentices and supervisors from British Coal and the Post Office. Noting that follow-up work generally showed that people going back into their organisations hit a brick wall from their managers, a strategic decision was made to target organisations higher up to help create environments which were supportive in helping people grow.

In 1983, a new innovative programme, High Impact Training, developed by Impact specifically for managers of the recently privatised British Telecom, gained massive media attention from the BBC, Granada and Channel 4.  This led to Impact delivering 37 week-long courses in their second year.  This led us to winning contracts with M&S, Apple Computers and a number of government departments.
